The history of Transboutik : A Boutique Thought by and for Transgender People

About Transboutik

Transboutik, initially known as yourself, was born in 2018, but its story begins long before, with my own transition. As a transgender person who has completed my transition (mastectomy, hysterectomy, phalloplasty and erectile pump), I have faced many obstacles since 2010. At that time, no site in France combined all the essential products to accompany a gender transition, whether for trans men (FtM) or trans women (MtF).

At the time, the few international sites offered only one type of product. For binders, we had to turn to Underworks in the United States, for prosthetics to Peecock in Singapore, and for realistic and affordable products, online sex shops were often the only option. These products, however, were not always designed to meet the specific needs of transgender people.

Faced with these difficulties – ordering from several foreign sites, managing different currencies, bank and customs fees, and the language barrier – the idea of a shop centralizing all these products was born.

Starts : Grouped Orders

In 2013, I started organizing group orders in transgender support groups. This helped other people in transition to access the products they needed without the complications of multiple orders abroad. Orders have multiplied, responding to a real need in the community.

The development of Transboutik

In 2018, I made the decision to launch Transboutik, a French online shop dedicated to the needs of FtM, MtF, non-binaires, queers, and the entire LGBTQIA+ community. What was initially only a small site with a few products became a flourishing company with a wide range.

Today, Transboutik is much more than just a shop. A small product cabinet, we moved to a dedicated office with a large stock, continuing to grow to meet the needs of the community and minimize gender dysphoria.

Mission and Values

From the beginning, Transboutik aims to offer products that affirm and celebrate gender identity, whatever its expression. Each product is chosen for its comfort, quality and accessibility. My goal is to ensure a fast, discreet shipment and make the shop accessible to all Europe.

I want Transboutik more than just an online shop, but also a source of advice and resources for the community.

The future Transboutik

My ambition is to continue to expand our range of products and remain a reference for the trans community in France and Europe, so that everyone in transition can find what they need at affordable prices.
