Form Function LLC began as the number one lab in a bedroom apartment in the basement in Springfield, Missouri. I had thought about the STPs and where to find one that is functional, realistic and sustainable. During a walk with my dog, without thinking about anything particular, I thought about how I could create a realistic and functional STP, without tubes or accessories. I spent the next two years saving money to buy small quantities of supplies, designing prototypes and experiencing massive failures but also successes. I put the original "Number One" STP on sale on Etsy in December 2012.

All Form Function products begin with hand carved clay prototypes. Each design is tested and modified over a long period of testing and error. Each model sold is entirely handmade using the best available materials and carefully verified for its quality and durability.

My inspiration is my community; the trans community. Necessity is the mother of the invention, and being able to pee in the public toilets is a necessity. The need for a functional, sustainable and realistic STP that can give trans people a sense of safety pushes me to work on products.

The goal is to continue to offer more styles and sizes – more options. STPs are not universal. I want to make it easy for everyone to find the most suitable STP. He's still working on new designs.
